Best Sunset Spots in Key Largo

The Keys are world famous for their sunsets and for good reason. No two are the same and you’ll rarely be disappointed. I love watching the colors morph until the sky finally goes dark. It’s the perfect way to end a great day of diving.

“Going to sunset” is a thing here. It’s a daily celebration. Let’s face it, there’s not a lot to do in Key Largo but when you have sunsets like these you don’t need much more. Add an ice cold beer and some live music and you’ve got yourself a perfect night out.

Everyone has their goto spot but these are my favorites:

#1 – Bayside Grille & Sunset Bar: If I had to pick a favorite, this is it. The place where everyone knows my name. We go at least once a week. This is a casual, laid-back open-air bar with picnic tables outside on a sandy area bordering the bay. There’s live music every night and a gorgeous view of the bay! They serve bar food downstairs and fancier food upstairs – something for every mood. The sunset tradition here is the blowing of the conch shell marking the close of another day in paradise. After dark, the underwater lights come on under the dock – we spend hours out there watching the fish hunt by the lights. Great happy hour prices from 4:00-7:00 too!

Sunset and a thunderstorm!

Love this boat heading straight into the sunset! One of my favorite pics!

#2 – The Caribbean Club: We love casual, come-as-you-are type places and the Crib does not disappoint! A true dive bar not to be missed on your trip to Key Largo. They don’t serve food here but there are food trucks in the parking lot now and then. You can also walk to a few restaurants from here. Live music on the weekends! Dog friendly too!

Sunset on the “beach” at the Caribbean Club celebrating another day in paradise!

#3 – Rowell’s Waterfront Park: This park has finally reopened after being closed for months after Irma. It’s free & dog friendly with a sandy area that leads up to a wall on the bay. A great place to watch sunset and get away from the bars. Closes 30 minutes after sunset – just late enough to get some nice pics of the post sunset glow.

Rowell’s Park – Key Largo – finally reopened after being closed due to Irma! A great place to watch the sunset!

#4 Sundowners: Last but in no way least! This is our favorite date night spot. Great food with a vegetarian menu in addition to the regular menu, and a gorgeous sunset view! Live music some nights. They also have a nice weekend brunch!
