Spring ahead – 2016 :)

I woke up at 7:45 this morning and looked over at my little guy who was still sleeping peacefully next to me and couldn’t believe he let me sleep till 7:45! This almost never happens. He’s very much into his schedule (he’s also very persistent) whereas our older dog just goes with the flow.

Then I realized what day it is – only the best day of the year – spring ahead day!

This is without a doubt of my favorite days! Turning the clocks ahead is one of the first signs that spring & summer are just around the corner. I love that it’ll be light after work late enough to do something outside. I usually run the trails of the local state park, do some gardening, take the dogs down to the beach or go paddle boarding in the summer. Pretty much anything outside. In 3 weeks it’ll be time to put our hummingbird feeders back out. I could (and do) watch them for hours.

After spending the winter in the Keys this year I wasn’t nearly as desperate for this day to arrive as I would normally be. I’m usually well into the depths of S.A.D. by this time – but not this year – being in the Keys solved that problem. We were outside doing something every day and the sun sets later there too, about 45 minutes later on average than the mid-Atlantic. I saw a Florida license plate yesterday while I was running errands with the tag line “endless summer.” It truly is an endless summer there.

We haven’t done anything yet toward listing/selling our house. We’ve only been back a week though so I’m cutting us some slack. My project at work is requiring everyone to work a ton of overtime right now too so I won’t be much help for the next few weeks.
