Winter time!

While my friends and family back home are getting pounded by a winter storm, I’m sitting on the deck listening to the palm trees rustle in the breeze enjoying my coffee. I fell in love with the Keys last winter for this very reason. Winters down here are perfect, highs around 80 and lows around 70. This week I’ve been out kayaking in the mangroves, diving, and I’ve spent most of every day outside which was one of my original goals. I couldn’t stand to spend another winter inside especially after spending most of last winter here.

S.A.D. is a thing of the past. I feel the warmth of the sun on my skin everyday. I plan my activities around sunrise/sunset, the wind and the tides versus what time of day the temp will be most reasonable to go out and do things.

A few pics from this week’s winter activities.

My little guy enjoying the condensation from my drink at a fundraiser this week for a local rescue. Doing our part!

What we did last night! Stared at the stars, enjoyed a few drinks, listened to music and the palm trees and talked about anything and everything. J got me these glasses for Christmas & I love them! I thought they might be gimmicky at first but they’re great. Keeping my drink cold outside in January is a nice problem to have to solve.

So while our friends in our old neighborhood are trudging through knee deep snow to get to the brewery for a blizzard party we’re going to leisurely ride our bikes to a beer festival on the water.

We’re expecting a cold front tomorrow. The temperature will plummet to 59! Feel bad for us yet? I didn’t think so! The pic below is funny but if I ever experience a 37 degree day again something went very wrong!

Stay warm friends!
